Multi-Touch Coming to OLPC laptops

The One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) nonprofit organization said its upcoming XO-1.75 laptop will include a multitouch screen and modified software to go with it.

The XO-1.75 will start shipping next year with an 8.9-inch touch screen; other features include an Arm processor as opposed to the current XO-1.5 laptop, which uses a VIA x86 CPU.
OLPC plans to sell XO-1.75 laptops with and without multitouch displays.
OLPC laptops are designed for children in primary schools in developing countries. The company is currently developing an XO3 multitouch tablet with no physical keyboard.
